Customizable Web Page

MySpeed Server is a Java applet, which can be easily incorporated into your own web pages with your messaging and branding. You can create multiple web pages utilizing the same Java applet, with customized HTML, JavaScript, or different applet configurations to provide different views and processes as needed.
HTTP Testing
• All Editions
HTTP testing is used to measure the rates of download and upload data transfers for the broadband speed test. The HTTP test utilizes the browser application to perform the test and provides results based on the end-user experience.
Socket Testing

A direct socket-to-socket connection operates at the TCP layer of the OSI model, which is a lower level than the application a layer utilized by HTTP. A HTTP connection uses a browser which works at the application layer and is subject to factors such as browser caches and proxies which can affect results, particularly on high speed networks.

Socket mode allows MySpeed Server to operate a test at the fastest possible speed the hardware/software can support using a raw socket-to-socket connection. This is the most accurate method for measuring the maximum speed a connection can handle.
Performance Database

All test results are stored in a central performance database with several reporting options.

The database enables network/VoIP technicians to view performance data over time to identify trends in behavior, or specific data and time ranges based on date, IP address, domain or Session ID. Customer support groups can easily views results of individual customers for troubleshooting and customer service operations. Details.
Session ID

Session ID enables tagging of test results with a text identifier. The Session ID string, such as a name or support ticket number, may be entered by the end user, or may be passed automatically to the web page as uneditable text.

The Session ID is a powerful feature that enables technicians and customer service groups to identify and view test results for an individual user or groups of users.

The Automated Alert feature enables support technicians to set threshold values on speed and VoIP test results, which will provide instant notification by email for any test that falls below required standards.

Alerts can be set for connection tests performed by external RTAs or RSAs, tests performed using the applet, or for all tests.

Remote Test Agents /
Automated Testing

The Remote Test Agents (RTAs) perform scheduled VoIP simulation tests, broadband speed tests and connection quality tests from multiple points on network. All test results are recorded in a central performance database.

RTAs are designed to test permanent connections and are licensed by the total number of RTAS installed.

RTA testing provides key information for network operation centers (NOCs) to analyze VoIP and network performance, quickly locate areas of poor performance and troubleshoot service delivery problems. RTAs can be deployed in multiple strategic locations on an enterprise network to continually measure and report the capacity and quality of vital connections.

In MySpeed v7, RTAs can be easily created, modified and removed through the MySpeed server console, greatly simplifying the RTA management process.

Remote Support Agents /
Interactive Testing

The Remote Support Agents (RSAs) perform customized tests from remote customer locations to the MySpeed Server to quickly resolve connectivity problems. The RSAs are reusable and can be used to support unlimited remote customers or end-users. All test results are recorded in a central performance database.

RSA testing provides key information for support technicians to quickly troubleshoot service delivery problems and identify the cause of remote customer connectivity problems. RSAs can be deployed on a ‘on demand’ basis as part of a customer support call, and used interactively with the customer during the call.

RSAs can be easily created, modified and removed through the MySpeed server console, greatly simplifying the support process and reducing support call time. All test results are recorded in a central performance database.
