Release 7.4b enhancements:
• Minor bug fix.
Release 7.4a enhancements:
• Reports Max Attainable Speed, the calculated maximum TCP connect speed that is supported by a network connection.
The Max Attainable Speed identifies the clients local connection
speed, and helps users to better evaluate the performance of the route
being tested. The measure provides better insight to the impact
and degradation of connection problems that affect throughput quality
and speed.
• Reports Max Route Speed, the maximum speed that may be attained on the route being tested between the client and MySpeed Server. The Max Route Speed identifies the limits imposed on the TCP stack
because of the route latency and inherent length. This measure enables
users to validate that any degradation reported is a result of the
connection length versus connectivity quality (impacted by packet loss
etc.).
In addition, for high speed connections (such as between 2
corporate offices) the Max Route Speed identifies connection limits so
users can assess what level of connection speed (e.g. T1, T2, T3) will
deliver the best ROI.
• Reports TCP forced idle %, this identifies TCP idle time invoked because the route being tested is too slow end-to-end and the TCP stack is forced to idle. The TCP Forced Idle Percent allows customers to assess the capacity
for a connection to sustain more than one TCP session without
degradation to other TCP sessions.
For example, if a connection shows
50 percent forced idle another FTP session could be run with little to
no impact to the first download session. In this case, if a download
service supports multiple connections the throughput could be doubled
by allowing the transfer to use two connections.
Release 7.3g enhancements:
• RTA and applet now both perform the RTT test using the socket stream (ie: port 20000 if available, will fall back to 80 if not).
• Various minor fixes.
Release 7.3f enhancements, NOC and Support Editions:
• The RTA API now supports 2 additional variables: the public IP address of the machine running the RTA,
and the friendly name (user-given) for the RTA
• RTAs can be set to run in quiet mode (no popups are displayed). This can be set globally or for every subsequent RTA instance
Release 7.3e enhancements:
• Supports Linux/Unix RA (remote agents) — NOC and Support Editions.
• Supports database searches on test destination (dest=xxxx) — Pro, NOC and Support Editions.
Release 7.3d enhancements,
NOC and Support Editions:
• New API for remote agents enables capture of test result data for use in a third party database. Users can specify a URL to which the results are sent via an HTTP POST, and specify which variables are POSTed and in what format.
This feature is accessible from the Modify RTA / RSA test page in the MySpeed Server control panel.
Release 7.3c enhancements,
all editions:
• Maintenance release
Release 7.3b enhancements:
• Database now supports searching on country code and ISP with * wildcard support
• Application now supports 90-second test
• Dramatically reduced the size of the applet
• Various minor fixes
Release 7.3a enhancements,
VoIP editions:
• RAs (remote agents) now support downstream (server --> client) VoIP test
•
RAs and applet both send detail packet-by-packet for downstream test as well as upstream
• Downstream VoIP test is now plotted as a separate graph / section in the detail report
• RA VoIP test is configurable, can now set:
a. Packets per second
b. Bytes per packet
c. Number of lines to simulate
d. Test duration
e. Packet discard time (if the packet arrives later than this it is said to be discarded)
f. Whether or not to perform downstream test
• RAs support packet discards and packet order metrics (upstream)
• Applet and RAs both support packet discards and packet order metrics for upstream
Release 7.2b enhancements,
all editions:
• Maintenance release
Release 7.2a enhancements,
all editions:
• Choice of Codecs for VoIP testing
• Ability to extend speed tests for very high speed networks
• Various minor fixes
Release 7.1d enhancements,
all editions:
• Improves performance of applet display
Release 7.1c enhancements,
Professional Edition and above:
• Added upload and download test types as JavaScript variables
• Added option to select which tab to display in applet when the test completes
• Added option to downloading / exporting route table
• Added test source to database (eg: applet, RTA, etc.)
Release 7.1b enhancements,
VoIP editions:
• Adds the MOS score metric
as a JavaScript variable.
Release 7.1a enhancements,
all editions:
• Custom web page wizard simplifies
process of creating MySpeed pages with your
company logo and MySpeed configuration settings.
Release 7.0d enhancements,
all editions: New Version Release!
ALL EDITIONS:
• Install Wizard gets
you running within minutes
• Browser-based Setup & Configuration greatly
simplifies the ability to view and modify available options
MYSPEED PROFESSIONAL & NOC
EDITIONS:
• Bandwidth Test Graph is
displayed as a new tab in the applet and in the
database report detail. The graph illustrates
how the download speed fluctuated during the
speed test, and displays the pauses between sending
data blocks (TCP gaps).
• VoIP Test Graph (VoIP Editions only) is displayed as
a new tab in the applet and in the database report detail,
and shows the variance of UDP jitter over
time.
• Network Provider of the client is logged to
the database with test results.
• Country Location of the test end point is logged to
the database with test results, providing reference for the geographical distance
between the browser client or the remote agent and the MySpeed Server.
MYSPEED NOC EDITIONS:
• Improved management
of Remote Test Agents - RTAs can
be easily created, modified and removed through
the MySpeed server console, greatly simplifying
the RTA management process.
• Automated Alerts provide
instant notification by email
for any test that falls below required standards.
NEW! MYSPEED
SERVER VoIP SUPPORT
EDITION
Includes all features of other
editions, PLUS:
• On-Demand RSAs (Remote
Support Agents). The RSAs perform customized
tests from remote customer locations to the MySpeed
Server to quickly resolve connectivity problems. The
RSAs are reusable and can be used to support
unlimited remote customers or end-users.
All test results are recorded in a central performance
database.
RSA testing provides key information for support
technicians to quickly troubleshoot service delivery
problems and identify the cause of remote customer
connectivity problems. RSAs can be deployed on
a ‘on demand’ basis as part of a
customer support call, and used interactively
with the customer during the call.
RSAs can be easily created, modified and removed
through the MySpeed server console, greatly simplifying
the support process and reducing support call
time. All test results are recorded in a central
performance database.
